another three-a-day
6x10’ minute row this morning with two twenty stroke bursts per ten minutes. these rows that say 60 minutes wind up being 90 minutes with our warm up and cool down. the row was pretty solid, but our paddling/low strokes could have been better and sharper. good news is that our twenties at pace were better than ever.
then, we threw in a yoga class with our favorite instructor over at triad yoga.
lastly, a crosstraining run workout. willy was stoked for it. running has grown on me, and i thought i was decent at it… but willy kicks my ass. this was a 50 minute run with your heart rate in zone 1 for 7’, zone 2 for 2’, zone 3 for 1’, and repeat five times. when running, you want to hit higher heart rates than with rowing (cycling is lower than rowing to create equivalent levels of lactate) so that means my zone 1 was like 160, zone 2 high 160s to low 170s, and zone 3 was high 170s (ie i had to be booking it).
the one other news on the day is i think powerbar did not continue my sponsorship for 2012-2013. you have to reapply every two years, and i don’t think my application was week in any area. i had better results than ever before and did plenty of the tasks they asked you do while having sponsorship. i just think they’ve determined that rowing does not fit their profile (ie it’s not high profile). already shopping around to see if i can find a replacement deal with stinger and maybe now foods.
