Concept2: CRASH-B Results 2012
crash-b’s is the biggest indoor rowing race in the world. i went to it during college, but haven’t found the energy/time to go back since. like a lot of somewhat non-essential things, crash-b’s sees a bit of a different crowd during an olympic year since people training for the olympics do not go out of their way to attend. definitely would have been fun to go and crush it in the open men’s category. still a couple of stellar performances in some of the other events.
my three main shout-outs are:
- Jenny van Dobben de Bruin in the open women. granted, she could have won it on another day, but crushing it per usual. Jenny did a summer rowing at vesper and lived in the rower monastery were i reside.
- Jack Vihstadt in the lwt men. Jack is a current student at colby, and this was his first time competing in an open lightweight category for anything. 6:27 is a solid score for colby and especially at that weight considering we do not have a lightweight program.
- Stew Stokes, my college coach and former (and still) elite coxswain, still throwing it down at CRASH-Bs!
