anti-antioxidants?
in closing for the day, i have been trying to do some research on this after hearing about studies that claim antioxidants may delay muscle recovery after strenuous workouts. this is in contrast to a lot of other studies that say to take in antioxidants, like vitamin C, post-exercise to combat both a vulnerable immune system as you’re tired and the free radicals created by the breakdown of cells within your muscles during hard exercise.
it is basically accepted as fact that, while working out has many, many positive benefits, intense/strenuous workouts cause the increased production of free radicals as muscles fatigue. the best treatment for this is what is up in the air. you need your muscles to rebuild, but you also need to rid your body of the excess free radicals.
